The New Yorker, Art Director and Designer
An annual three-day, 50-event festival bringing The New Yorker to life with interviews, panel discussions, and intimate tours inspired by the content of the magazine.
I had the opportunity to touch all aspects of The New Yorker Festival during my tenure at the brand. This included developing the identity, designing promotional ads, blasts, and social media postings, creating small collateral such as tickets and invitations, and working on large-format signage at venues and as part of out-of-home campaigns around the city.

A two-part series of four-page sections highlighting the cultural offerings of Montréal, Canada.
I secured a photographer to join a team from The New Yorker and an influencer in Montréal, oversaw photo selection and design of the final printed piece.
The New Yorker, Art Director and Designer
An annual self-guided tour of participating art galleries and stores throughout SoHo and the Lower East Side. The day culminated in an after party featuring a silent auction to benefit a charity partner.
I developed the identity for Passport, designed the event signage, small collateral, and oversaw the execution of additional event elements. Collaborating with the production director, events team, and an outside production company, I helped plan the after party space including reimagining a delivery area to create the event entrance and a sponsor lounge.
Meredith Corporate, Designer
Newsletters and email blasts sent to Meredith’s partners. I created the illustrations and animation for the holiday blast.

As part of a cartoon caption contest highlighting three of her works, entrants were asked to share their retirement plans. Select stories were illustrated by Maj as cartoons and were shared on the site.
I oversaw the design for the microsite and web ads promoting it.

Cartoons by Kaamran Hafeez
A digital program for Jaguar featuring custom art created by a New Yorker cartoonist. The cartoons lived on NewYorker.com as native placements in editorial slideshows and as a paid post in The New Yorker's Instagram feed.
I oversaw the art direction of the project from selecting artists to preparing the creative brief for the cartoonists. Working directly with Kaamran Hafeez on each round of client feedback, three successful cartoons were created for this program.
